For an small grocery store owner Harshad Gohil, a victim of a rail accident, the loss was not just a limb but his source of livelihood. He was aware of prosthetic limbs, but it was beyond their means. But the hope that they will be able to walk on their own once again radiated in their countenance.
In February 2021, Getbak Ahmedabad, collaborated with Gokuldham Nar to set up a camp. This camp will be Gokuldham Nar for artificial limbs donation. The camp was sponsored and assisted by Virginia Beach Seva Mandal in the USA. Gokuldham International is an academic cum religious campus of Swaminarayan trust at Nar of Gujarat. India’s population of amputees is as much as half a million with thousands adding up every year. As 70% of these handicaps live in villages, this camp drive aimed to provide prosthetic limbs to the underprivileged from nearby village areas. With everyone’s noble efforts combined, this initiative became a boon to 103 hearty lives.
